For almost a full year I have been writing this weekly column for WorldNetDaily. I have been lucky to be able to introduce several stories long ahead of the power curve. I was one of the first in the country to expose the Monica Lewinsky controversy, to introduce the Y2K potential threats, to raise questions about the death of Jim McDougal, to focus on the Echelon issue, and others.
I try (and sometimes fail) to find compelling stories on which to comment. I try to get it (if not first) early. Most important, I try to get it right. I never comment on anything that I haven't already corroborated by at last three sources.
However, there is a lot I'd like to comment on, that frankly, despite a good, reliable source, I cannot corroborate. So, I'm asking for your help. If any of you can provide corroboration, additional insights, or personal knowledge regarding any of the following, please advise by email.
Gun confiscation
On Patriot's day 1994 (the day that recognizes the battle of Lexington when colonists fought the British over efforts to confiscate powder and ball. ... gun control) President Bill Clinton said on MTV "When we got organized as a country and we wrote a fairly radical Constitution with a radical Bill of Rights, giving a radical amount of individual freedom to Americans, it was assumed that the Americans who had that freedom would use it responsibly...However, now there's a lot of irresponsibility. And so a lot of people say there's too much freedom. When personal freedom's being abused, you have to move to limit it."
It is no secret that Billary Clinton, Janet Reno, and the current socialist administration want to disarm lawful citizens, and abrogate the second amendment. However, the report of an alleged official document detailing planning is significant. Especially when compounded with the reported re-release of the infamous 29 Palms Survey polling military attitudes about posse comitatus violating military participation in civil disarmament.
Here's the deal. I recently received an email from a source I know to be credible and reliable. However, it is unclear if the intelligence he stumbled across is for real, or part of a contrived disinformation plan. Lord knows we have been duped by leaked misinformation in the recent past. A common tactic of the Clintonistas is to leak information that makes claims far worse than the reality, thereby dulling the true facts as "so what?" ... The obvious example is the alleged emotional blowup by the president during his grand jury testimony. We were all anticipating video proof of that infamous Clinton temper, but it never happened. Another disinformation "leak" claimed there were over 100 edits to the televised grand jury testimony. That too was false, but a brilliant manipulation of information. This most recent revelation concerns a fear shared by many. Our source lives in Northern California and belongs to a Rod & Gun Club which is frequented by FBI and BATF folks.
Recently, "... one of their higher ups left his notebook behind when they left" after shooting. "The rangemasters opened it and checked it out In there was an Executive order with a number C174798 eff. 1January 99. Reportedly, the order concerned training on how to confiscate guns. I'm trying to get the actual wording of the document. Is this real, or hyperbole intended to dull our reaction to whatever the government DOES intend to do?
The other shoe
It has been suggested (and I accept) that the socialist one-worlders will try to disarm Americans by treaty ... probably orchestrated with co-conspirators in the United Nothing. Those who would disarm us, know that (at least for now) they cannot. Incremental legislation may or may not fail, and the more draconian Democrat disarmament dreams will suffer massive non-compliance. Lawful gun owners will be made criminals by fiat, but (again, at least for now) will resist. A "Study Group on Ammunition and Explosives in all their aspects" has been established in, and by, the United Nations. In the wake of this "Study Group" a recommendation of the "Report of the SecretaryGeneral on Small Arms" submitted in pursuance of General Assembly resolution 50/70 B (A/52/298), this global gun grabbers gaggle was created. In pursuance of operative paragraph 3 of General Assembly resolution 52/38 J on "Small Arms" the SecretaryGeneral is asked to "initiate a study on the problems of ammunition and explosives in all their aspects, as early as possible, within available financial resources, and in cooperation with appropriate international and regional organizations where necessary". Please note the use of the phrase "in all their aspects".
>From 27 April to 1 May 1998 at United Nations Headquarters in New York the first working session of the Study Group co-conspirators took place. This "Group" is made up of eight 'experts', participating in their individual capacity (whatever the hell that means), representing different regions of the world and different realities (Argentina, South Africa, Switzerland, Finland, the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research, USA, Ireland and Slovakia).
THIS IS IMPORTANT. ... The Study Group apparently has been entrusted, although not by you, me or any Constitutional authority, with the dirty task of preparing the first ever (but surely not the last) UN report on the issue. This effort is a part of the global strategy to curb the excessive and destabilizing accumulation of small arms.
It is significant that the Study Group defined it's own task as: "carrying out a study that. ... seeks to assess whether and how enhanced controls of ammunition and explosives can contribute to preventing and reducing the excessive and destabilizing accumulation and proliferation, as well as the abuse of small arms." Notwithstanding pretentious qualifications, these enemies of the Constitution and Bill of Rights are setting the agenda (under the color of international law) for abrogating the form and substance of the second amendment, and by extension the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
These pretentious bureaucrats, calling themselves a "Study Group" established a framework for the study and divided the work among its members according to specialization and regions of origin. The first draft framework includes different sections: the definition of the mandate; and authority of the Study Group; identification of the problem of ammunition and explosives; providers, consumers, transfers, stocks, surpluses, regional characteristics, existing forms of control and options for improving control. You can guess what kind of "options for improving control" they intend. I'm sure the options embraced by Hitler and Stalin are at the top of the list.
The Study Group has also drafted a questionnaire which was transmitted to governments, producers, trade associations and other actors involved in the production or traffic of ammunition and explosives. NOTE: If anyone has one of these questions please let me know. This questionnaire reportedly includes inquiries related to capacity of production, exports and imports, illegal trafficking, transfers of technology, destruction of stocks and surpluses, transport legislation and international exchange of information. There is also a technical section including inquiries on the types of ammunition and explosives used or identified in a given country.
This elitists Study Group will consider a set of recommendations and proposals to enhance control over ammunition and explosives, as a part of the overall strategy to control the excessive proliferation, accumulation and use of small arms and light weapons. They will determine their recommendations based on the information received from the questionnaires, as well as from other sources of information (which you can be sure will not include you, me, or he NRA, GOA, et al). However, a close connection between the Study Group and the Group of Governmental Experts on Small Arms is envisaged.
The second session of the Study Group is scheduled to be held from 11 to 15 January 1999 at UN Headquarters.
Now if you happen to be one of those folks who doesn't own guns, doesn't plan on owning guns, and doesn't care about guns, please consider the following. If you allow even one element of the Bill of Rights to be finessed, the entire document is in jeopardy. If you allow the second amendment to fall, then you have allowed the cornerstone for the destruction of the tenth, fourth, fifth, and first amendments.
Long
ago and far away Marcus Tullius Cicero in 42 B.C. observed, "A nation can
survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason
from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known
and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within
the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard
in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor;
he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and
their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts
of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown
in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body
politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear."
